Life’s Tough Questions

The Biblical path to Eternal Life through the gift of Jesus Christ:

1 John 5:13
I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.
God states explicitly in his Word that if you believe with all your heart in the Son of God, Jesus Christ, you are guaranteed eternal life in Heaven with God.

But now God has shown us a different way of being right in his sight, not by obeying the law but by the way promised in the Scriptures long ago. We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done. For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. He has done this through Christ Jesus, who has freed us by taking away our sins.

You see, the Prophets proclaimed long ago that a Savior would come to save us from the inability to follow God’s law, the Ten Commandments. Jesus Christ is that Savior in which if we believe in Him, we are made right in God’s sight. God graciously provides us a way to salvation because none of us possesses the ability to follow the law perfectly.

Romans 7:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
God is pure, flawless and perfect. Because of this, God has no tolerance for sin. In fact, He despises sin. However, He recognized that his people couldn’t demonstrate the ability to follow his laws and graciously sent us a gift. The gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ! If we believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we miss out on what is owed to us as a result of our imperfections and sin, death. Instead, we obtain God’s one free gift that will change your life forever, eternal life for those who willingly accept Jesus Christ as their Lord.

John 3:3
Jesus replied, “I assure you, unless you are born again, you can never see the Kingdom of God.”
Jesus guarantees us! He gives us his Word that unless you are born again, you can never enjoy the Gift of eternal life with him. You see to be born the first time is to be born of the flesh. To be born the second time, is to be born of the Spirit. Accepting Jesus Christ as your savior is to be “born again” this time in the Spirit of Christ.

Ephesians 2:8-9
God saved you by his special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.
For those of us who have decided to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we shall not boast. We haven’t done anything to deserve eternal life. Jesus Christ is a gift from God. We are simply accepting a gift from God. All the good deed in world will not save you from death. It is not through doing good deeds that gets us to heaven and/or God. Being a “good person” will not result in any reward from God. It certainly will not result in eternal life. God’s Word states explicitly that we fall way short of what is “good” in his eyes. But, God loves us so much that he sent us a gift, Jesus Christ to take away those imperfections.

Galations 2:20-21
I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I am not one of those who treats the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die.
When we accept Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit lives in us. We need to trust him and allow Him to lead our lives. Again, we cannot escape death by keeping God’s law. If anyone of us could do this, God would have never needed to introduce us to His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus gave himself for us. He gave up everything. He became poor so that we could become rich. God gave up everything by coming here to earth and by becoming human (Jesus). He suffered more than we do, died, and rose from the dead so that our sins and imperfections would be forgiven. He did it for us. He did it for you!

1 Peter 3:18
Christ also suffered when he died for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners that he might bring us safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.
Jesus didn’t deserve death, he never sinned. However, He graciously suffered and gave his life so that all people from that time on would be saved so long as they believed in Him as the way to God’s Kingdom.

Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
We don’t deserve God’s great love because we all fall short of His Glory. But, he sent us a Savior to replace our sin.

John 14:6
Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me?”
Jesus is clear that no person may enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless they believe in Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:1-2
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death.
Christ’s followers will not pay the penalty for their sins. We are freed from the chains of sin through Christ Jesus.

John 3:16
” For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Would you sacrifice yourself or a family member for other people’s imperfections? God did so that we could cherish his Holy Kingdom for an eternity, that’s unbelievable love!

Romans 10:9-10
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
The Word clearly indicates how to make you right with God. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Christ is Lord and you will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

2 Corinthians 5:17
What this means is that those who become Christians become new persons. They are not the same anymore, for the old life is gone. A new life has begun!
All our sins are forgiven, the old life is gone. A new life begins when we nail our sins up on that Cross. No matter what you have done or how bad it is, God will forgive you. When you become a Christian, Christ’s Holy Spirit lives in you, a new life has begun!

John 10:27-28
” My sheep recognize my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them away from me.”
Christ is the Shepard and we are his sheep. Once you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, nothing can change that not even Satin. Your name will be permanently written into the book of life.

Galations 5:22-24
But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there.
When we follow Christ and allow His Holy Spirit to direct our lives, He begins to replace the sin in our lives with the fruit of joy, peace, patience, love, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We would all like to instill more of these qualities into our lives.

Romans 8:28
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
This is a promise from God. All that happens is done so to fulfill God’s glorious plan.
