Hello, my name is Allen Weese

I was born and raised in Montrose Colorado, right in the heart of elk country! I am married to my beautiful wife Sammi and have two grown children Rebecca, Steven and one awesome two year old grandson Titus. I am a Battalion Chief and one of three chaplains for the Montrose Fire Protection District. I am also very active in my church, Crossroads Victory Worship Center, as a board member and adult Sunday School teacher.

I have a passion for God, my family and elk hunting! My father Don started taking my brother Scott and I rifle hunting for mule deer and elk when we were old enough to keep up with him in the mountains. In 1986 I began talking with a co-worker about bowhunting and started flinging arrows in the back yard. I bowhunted elk that next fall and I was instantly hooked! It took five years of learning the ropes before connecting with my first bow kill bull elk and at that point I was really hooked! As August approaches every year the excitement starts to build, knowing that the archery elk season is just a few weeks away! I always plan to take most of my vacation in September (thanks to a every understanding wife) and when I step out of the camper on my first morning of the hunt I can feel fall in the air, see the aspens starting to change their color from green to the most brilliant gold you could imagine and then to top it off hearing the faint bugle of a bull elk in the distance, I can truly see the finger prints of an almighty God!

I became acquainted with Andy Kaminski and Rugged Cross Outdoors through my beautiful daughter in-law Tara Weese (Andy’s sister). It was great to find a brother in Christ with the same passion for God and His creation. I am very honored to be a part of the Rugged Cross Outdoors team as a board member and I am looking forward to serving in this ministry.
